Chairs, couches, mattresses and a dishwasher were among the items left at a clothing donation center at 7th Street and Carefree Highway on Friday afternoon. A subsequent rain rendered the above items useless. Dumping unwanted items other than clothing can result in a citation from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Carefree Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Bill Meyer thanks the rest of the commission for his nomination at a meeting held on Monday. Meyer was re‑elected chair and Ron Clarke re‑elected vice chair. Mayor Wayne Fulcher also spoke at the meeting, thanking the members for their service.
