ADOT to hold three ‘I‑17 Road Shows’

The state transportation department will hold three information meetings on planned improvements to Interstate 17 in the North Valley.

The “I‑17 Road Shows,” hosted by the Arizona Department of Transportation, will provide information about the widening of the freeway between Loop 101 and Carefree Highway and the interchange construction along I‑17, according to an ADOT news release.

The presentations will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by an open forum where residents will have the opportunity to ask ADOT staff questions about the projects.

The road shows will be held on: Sept. 19 at. Sandra Day O’Connor High School, 25250 N. 35th Ave., in Glendale; Sept. 21 at the Anthem Community Center, 41130 N. Freedom Way, in Anthem; and Sept. 28 at the Desert Mountain Middle School, 35959 N. 7th Ave., in Desert Hills.

Flea market postponed

CAREFREE – Citing the potential for inclement weather, the Carefree Kiwanis Club announced it has rescheduled its flea market from Sept. 9 to Sept. 16.

The market will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tom Darlington and Cave Creek Roads, adjacent to the Rural/Metro fire station.

Admission and parking are free. Proceeds fund education grants for local students.
