SCOTTSDALE
– Police are searching for four to six Hispanic males
who held a Scottsdale husband and wife at gunpoint
early Tuesday morning and ransacked the couple’s home,
the Scottsdale Police Department reported.
The
home invasion occurred at a residence in the 23000
block of North Church Road at about 1:40 a.m., when
the masked suspects broke into the residence and confronted
the couple as the two came out of their bedroom to
investigate. One of the intruders hit the woman in
the head with the butt of a gun, according to the
police department.
Authorities
identified the victims as Robert and Sheri Steel.
The
suspects fired at least two shots before ransacking
the house, but did not take anything from the house,
police said.
As
they were leaving the home, the suspects fired more
shots before fleeing in an unknown vehicle, police
said.
About
30 minutes after the intruders fled, the victims went
to a neighbor’s house where they called for police.
The
woman suffered a head injury and was treated at the
scene by Scottsdale Fire Department paramedics, police
said.
