19 meeting for Transportation Master
Plan review in Scottsdale
The
final series of public meetings for
Scottsdale’s Transportation Master
Plan begins with a panel discussion
on transportation and sustainability.
The
discussion is being held at an open
house from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 19 at
the Granite Reef Senior
Center, Room 1, 1700 N. Granite Reef
Road.
The
panel will discuss how the city can
include sustainable concepts in its
transportation plans, such as using
recycled materials and solar energy,
incorporating alternative fuels in
its transit fleet and reducing the
use of pavement to preserve the desert
and limit environmental impacts.
Information
about the preliminary recommendations
of the master plan will be available
for review and comment at the open
house.
Planned
future meetings include more open
houses at the end of October, a study
session before City Council on Oct.
23, plus other meetings in November
before council consideration on the
final plan Nov. 20.
