Sonoran
News – irrelevant
by
Tom Seemeyer
Following
last week’s revelations at Cave Creek Town Council and
in The Desert Advocate, we waited with bated breath for
the latest version of Sonoran News attack “journalism.”
You could hear
the wheels of retribution grinding away clear over at
the Carefree Sundial.
Once
again, that paper’s “yellow journalism,” imposed upon
anyone who disagrees with publisher Don Sorchych– in particular,
citizen activist Mark Lipsky–without verification or seeking
comment from the person maligned, got it mostly wrong.
Such is the treatment of anyone who disagrees with Mr.
Sorchych’s biased opinion.
Not
to mention “anonymous” comments–that could easily be written
by Mr. Sorchych to further
his agenda–printed by Sonoran News. Anyone worth his or
her salt knows if it’s not worthy of your signature, it’s
not worth the ink to print it.
But
no matter. The editorial questions put forth, innuendo,
false statements and editorial comment masquerading as
news have rendered the publication irrelevant. And it’s
a shame, for there is plenty of room in the Desert Foothills
for more than one newspaper.
Competition
is not a crime, contrary to Mr. Sorchych. Outside of community
news, which Sonoran
News prints precious little of relative to the North Valley
as a whole, their machinations and
wild claims are of no interest or concern to readers who
look for pertinent information.
We
at the Advocate do not plan to further point out the hypocrisy
of Sonoran News, as it is obvious, nor do we expect any
level of sanity to return to its content or publisher.
As
stated in our “Response to Sonoran News lies ahead,” July
11 edition, the so‑called “news” stories and comment
printed by Sonoran News in an obvious, desperate attempt
to damage The Desert Advocate “will be answered– but in
a responsible, professional manner in the appropriate
forum.”
