girls cross country beats state’s best at prestigious meet
If
there was any doubt who had the state’s best girls cross
country team during the first half of the 2006 season, Sandra
Day O’Connor emphatically answered the question at the Doug
Conley Invitational last week.
The
Eagles girls easily won the prestigious meet, which featured
the top 23 teams in Arizona at all levels. Thanks to Lindsay
Prescott’s individual victory and four runners finishing
in the top 10, the Eagles finished with 56 points, almost
40 better than second‑place Page.
Prescott
won the race with a time of 18 minutes, 11.81 seconds, more
than 35 seconds better than Xavier’s Jessica Tonn, who grabbed
second. O’Connor also had top 10 finishes from Camille Olson
(third, 18:51.68), Aleina Eisenhauer (eighth, 19:17.10)
and Jade Riley (10th, 19:39.96).
