CC student in movie
by Bethany Carolyn Brown

CAVE CREEK – “I was really excited to get filming,” said Savannah Brennan‑Arneson, a 6th grade student at Bella Vista Private School in Cave Creek.

Savannah had landed a part as an extra, and was eager to get to filming. “It was a little intimidating. You get butterflies,” she said about being on the set with all of the other professional actors.

Savannah’s main job as an extra for the movie was to sit at a table in the temporarily named “Desert Queen” diner. But the excitement didn’t end there. Savannah got autographs and took pictures of most of the actors and actresses on set, including Rupert Friend and Jessica Craft.

When filming finished at 7:30 p.m., Savannah had another opinion on how movies were made.

“I thought filming would be more like I saw in the movies. It was a lot harder than I expected. But, being on set, and seeing how they actually made a movie was really fun. It was a great experience.”

She is the stepdaughter to Eric Westerlund, owner of Big Earl’s Greasy Eats, formerly Big Daddy Mojo’s, where filming took place.

The guest reporter for this story, Bethany Carolyn Brown, is a 7th grade student at Bella Vista Private School.
