Although
last week’s edition of The Desert Advocate was posted in full
to our Web site (thedesertadvocate.com),
an internal management error caused the Advocate a problem
with printing our paper in its entirety and to miss our distribution
schedule for the first time in 14 years.
We
deeply regret our error and any concern generated, and apologize
to our loyal readers and advertisers,
and dedicated personnel. Any and all necessary adjustments
will, of course, be made
promptly.
Several
ongoing changes in organizational structure, personnel duties
and responsibilities, and updated
format–in short, progress–will be coming to the Advocate over
the coming weeks, some obvious,
others to be announced.
First
and foremost, due to illness both personal and family, and
to lessen the stress of a very demanding
schedule, Karen Seemeyer, publisher of the Advocate, will
be passing some of her duties
and responsibilities to other staff, but will continue to
head overall publication and reader/advertiser
relations.
And
because people are the heart of the North Valley and our readership,
look for more personal interest
stories in the future.
Be
assured that, contrary to reported statements made by our
esteemed competitors to readers and advertisers, The Desert
Advocate is alive and well, and will continue to serve our
family of communities with pertinent and informative news
in the manner expected, to which we continue to be wholeheartedly
dedicated.
Finally,
I’ll take this opportunity to say “Thank You” for the support
and encouragement received at the Advocate as we continue
to grow with the North Valley. As always, our doors and phone
lines are open to anyone with questions or comment.
