Why
live here if you don't care for the scenery?
Thanks
for the article on the propositions affecting Daisy Mountain
(‘FOR SALE to the highest bidder,’ Oct. 4, 2006, The Desert
Advocate).
I
cannot imagine why anyone would move out to the extreme North
Valley and not care if all our lovely mountains and foothills
simply disappear under concrete. Why live here if you don’t
care for the scenery, fresh air, open space, wildlife, etc.?
If you don’t see the value of these things, well, there are
plenty of places down in the middle of the city where you’ll
be happier.
I
have walked and hiked all over Daisy Mountain and surrounding
areas many times.
I
have seen deer, antelope, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, and
much more. I have found fossils and interesting
rocks and plants, and left them undisturbed. Finally, I have
found natural peace and quiet
just a few minutes’ walk from my front door. I also feel the
same way about Spur Cross and other areas under discussion.
Once
you bulldoze all that, it will never be the same again. We need
to have limits.
