Falcons win, fail to gain power points

CAVE CREEK – When is a win not a win? Cactus Shadows found out the hard way after last week’s 53‑22 win over Washington. It taught them this lesson–victories sometimes don’t mean much when it comes to the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s power point rankings.

The Falcons entered the week second in 4A‑Division II power points despite an undefeated record. Cactus Shadows is half a point behind Higley, a team it beat 34‑10 earlier this season. Higley vaulted to the No. 1 spot after beating previous No. 1 Arcadia.

Cactus Shadows (8–0) has games remaining against No. 8 Bradshaw Mountain and Sunnyslope and Notre Dame, which are tied for 10th.
