Gov. Janet Napolitano  helped Cave Creek Mayor Vincent Francia officiate the town’s 20th anniversary. At a late morning celebration Oct. 20 at Harold’s Cave Creek Corral, Napolitano read a proclamation honoring the town. She noted that Cave Creek, on July 10, 1986, became the 80th municipality in the state to incorporate.
After blowing out the candles on the town’s birthday cake, Napolitano posed for photographs with Cave Creek officials and guests. While those attending the celebration began to line up for a lunch courtesy of the town, the governor stopped at the nearby Empty Bowls luncheon in Carefree, an event to benefit the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center.
