Raising
some funds to rescue some wildlife
by

BLACK
CANYON CITYBradshaw Mountain Wildlife Association has been helping
injured and orphaned animals in Prescott National Forest for
11 years. But they can’t do it alone. This year, like every
other animal rescue, they need a little help from their friends
(and not just their furry ones).
Bradshaw
Mountain’s director Alie Amato and animal care specialist Melissa
Schultz usually work with about 100 animals at their facility,
including bobcats, raccoons, skunks, coyotes, foxes, wolves,
along with cats, dogs and horses. And that takes a lot of money.
So
they’re asking everyone to help them out and have a good time
in the bargain by attending their 6th Annual Bradshaw Mountain
Wildlife Association Charity Dinner and Auction at Canyon Creek
Ranch in Black Canyon City at 4 p.m. on Nov. 4.
Live
and silent auctions of donated items, such as a pair of tickets
to the Nov. 8 Rolling Stones’ concert at University of Phoenix
Stadium, a soccer ball autographed by pop singer Rod Stewart,
and an autographed poster of country music stars Tim McGraw
and Faith Hill will help raise funds to keep Bradshaw Mountain
in the business of saving animals for another year.
Tickets
are $30 for adults and $10 for children. The association also
appreciates donations of checks, gift cards to PetSmart or Home
Depot, or by whatever method individuals and organizations might
want to contribute.
Amato
says they are still accepting donated items for the live and
silent auctions for the Nov. 4 event and anyone interested in
donating should call (928) 632‑9559 or send by mail to:
HC 34 Box 5234, Mayer, AZ 86333. Anyone seeking further information
on the Charity Dinner and Auction should also call that number.
