Thieves steal $7,000 albino parrot
Staff reports

DESERT HILLS—Some not-so-smart thieves stole an albino parrot from a Desert Hills nursery early Friday morning, walking past a $4,000 laptop computer and a cash register filled with money.

"They were retarded. They’re idiots," said Nick Bonnanno, owner of Desert Tranquility Nursery, 34719 N. Central Ave., Desert Hills.
Thieves broke into his nursery sometime Friday morning and instead stole Bianco, a white parrot valued at $7,000.

The parrot was a fixture at the nursery and greeted customers as they entered, Bonnanno said.

Bonnanno has put up a $5,000 reward to get back his parrot which has been in the family for seven-and-a-half years.
