N. Valley soccer teams on rise

NORTH VALLEY – Things can only go up for the teams at Boulder Creek, Goldwater and O’Connor in the 5A Northwest Region.

After finishing last year with losing records in the conference, the three teams are hoping to make a leap in the standings before realignment breaks the group up after the season.

Boulder Creek has five starters back from last year’s inaugural varsity team. The Jaguars had trouble winning last year, Kyle Norton, J.P. Whiley and Tanner Clark hope to change that in the program’s second year.

Goldwater is trying to improve on last year’s 4‑14‑0 record under coach Felix Dumitrache, while O’Connor took fifth in the region with coach Paul Davis a year ago.
