Students’ artwork on display at FACE

CAVE CREEK – A variety of artwork by local students from kindergarten through grade 12 is currently on display at The Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center.

The exhibition, “K‑12 Hidden in the Hills” is being shown in the FACE Gallery located in the lobby of the fine arts center in conjunction with the Sonoran art League’s “Hidden in the Hills” November exhibition.

Evelyn Holbrook, manager of the fine arts center and director of Desert Foothills Community Education, said each school in the Cave Creek Unified School District was asked to select 10 pieces of student art for a total of 80 pieces in a variety of mediums. There are five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school in the district.

“During December, since there are several public events at the FAC, parents, community members and visitors are able to see a representation of what our students can do,” Holbrook said.

Visual arts teachers from the various schools selected the pieces to be displayed at the gallery. The Hidden in the Hills exhibit has been moved to the FACE Gallery for the month of December and will run through Dec. 22. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center is located at 33606 N. 60th St., Scottsdale. Hours are 8:30 a.m. ‑ 4:30 p.m. Mon. ‑  Fri.
