Carefree presents free Christmas concert

CAREFREE – The town of Carefree will present its 5th annual holiday celebration, a “Carefree Christmas ‑ Concert at the Opera House,” from 6‑8:30 p.m., Dec. 14, at Carefree Resort and Villas.

Santa Claus will be on hand before the concert from 6 to 8 pm to meet and greet the children.

Presentations by high school, middle and elementary schools will be part of the evening’s entertainment.

Cactus Shadows High School directed by Gary Wykoff; Desert Arroyo Middle School directed by Linda King; Sonoran Trails Middle School directed by John Cowan; Black Mountain Elementary School directed by Bonnie Loney; and Lone Mountain Elementary School directed by Wendy Gazo will highlight the event.

Lloyd Meyer playing a Lowery theatre organ and wife Donna Meyer on a Bechstein concert grand piano will perform Christmas favorites.

Admission is free. The chefs at Carefree Resort & Villas will provide food and refreshments. A cash bar will be available. The resort is located at 37220 Mule Train Road in Carefree. For more information call (480) 488‑3686.
