Train Toy Drive
The
3rd Annual Smile Train Toy Drive is slated to run through
Dec. 15.
New,
unwrapped toys will be collected for Head Start programs
throughout the Deer Valley Unified School District and Black
Canyon City as well as for local children.

Scottsdale
fire department collecting Toys for Tots
All
13 Scottsdale Fire stations and headquarters buildings are
collecting
new, unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys
for Tots program.
The
fire department will accept toys through Dec. 22. The toys
will be given to the Paiute Neighborhood Center, a south
Scottsdale community center that assists underprivileged
children and teens.

Phoenix
Fire Department seeking toys, clothing
for needy children
The
Phoenix FD is seeking donations for at‑risk children
at numerous Head Start classes, several homeless shelters,
the Phoenix Crisis Nursery, the Salvation Army, and other
nonprofit organizations.
Drop
off a new toy or clothing item at any local Phoenix Fire
District
Office during business hours from now until Dec. 23. For

City
of Phoenix seeking items for the homeless
The
City of Phoenix is asking for donated items to be distributed
to the homeless. Clean blankets, new or used, are the highest
priority. Clean warm clothing, such as long sleeve jackets
and long pants, hats and gloves, coats, underwear, socks,
shoes and hygiene items, also will be accepted.
Baby
food/formula, diapers and children’s blankets are needed
as well. These are the only items the city will accept.
The program will run through March 16. Donated items, which
are tax‑deductible,
may be delivered to any of the city’s four Family Services
Centers. Centers are located at: Travis L. Williams, 4732
S. Central Ave.; Central Phoenix, 1250 S. Seventh Ave.;
John F. Long, 3454 N. 51st Ave.; and Sunnyslope, 914 W.
Hatcher Road.
Phantom
Realty Inc. sponsoring a holiday drive
Phantom
Realty Inc., an Anthem company, is sponsoring a drive for
the needy through Dec. 18. This year’s recipient is the
Phoenix Rescue Mission.
Donations
can be made at the office from 9 a.m.‑5 p.m., Monday‑Friday,
9 am to 5 pm. The office is accepting toiletries, new undergarments,
blankets, baby items and non‑perishable food
items.
