Barrett‑Jackson
adds some rock ‘n’ roll this year
The
36th annual Barrett‑Jackson Collector Car Event in Scottsdale
has a new twist this year.
They've
added a Rock 'n' Roll Memorabilia auction to take place prior
to the classic car auction.
Interested
bidders will be able to take a shot at purchasing some rare
items from the musicians who put rock 'n' roll on the map.
For
instance, the 1940 Martin guitar Bill Haley and his Comets
used to record "Rock Around the Clock," "Shake
Rattle and Roll," See You Later Alligator" will
be on the auction block. Or how about the piano Sir George
Martin and the Beatles used to record "Abbey Road"
in Apple Studios in England? A must have for Beatle freaks.
Talk
about a cool blast from the past. Von Dutch's bus, where the
famous eccentric pinstriper, designer, artist, philosopher
and all around colorful character once lived, will be up for
sale to the highest bidder.
These
are just some examples of items to be offered at the auction.
Barrett‑Jackson
Collector Car Event runs from Jan. 13‑Jan. 21, 2007.
The event is open to the public from Jan. 15 through Jan.
21.
Guests
will have the opportunity to bid on rock 'n' roll memorabilia
beginning at 3 p.m. on Jan. 15.
The
event will take place at WestWorld Event Facility, 16601 N.
Pima Road in Scottsdale.
