Big white tents on Scottsdale Road to house 'premiere art event'
The Celebration of Fine Arts to return

SCOTTSDALE – The Celebration of Fine Arts is scheduled for Jan. 12‑March 25 in Scottsdale.

Since its inception in 1991, the annual event has become one of the most highly anticipated tourist attractions of the winter season.

The celebration combines gallery‑caliber art exhibits with behind‑the‑scenes studio visits where the public and artists are able to interact in a unique artistic forum. Almost all of the 100 participating artists set up working studios during the celebration, allowing the public rare access to the artists and their work.

"The Celebration is an exciting fine art event in which we proudly showcase some of the country's most masterful artists," said Susan Potje, principal organizer for Celebration of Fine Art.

"The show offers an extraordinary opportunity for visitors to watch art develop and engage in conversation with the artists as they create their magic. Visitors can take something home that they have a personal connection with."

The event once again returns to the big white tents along Scottsdale Road, and the 2007 show will highlight a series of special events adding a new dimension to the 10‑week extravaganza.

Besides paintings, visitors will find sculpture, glass, jewelry, furniture and ceramics among the works. A wide variety of styles and subject matters are represented by the celebration's artists, and outside the tents a one‑acre central courtyard houses "Art in the Garden," a display of more than 90 sculptures.

The show is located south of Loop 101 on the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Mayo Boulevard. Hours are from 10 a.m.‑6 p.m. seven days a week.

Season tickets for all 10 weeks of the show are $8 for adults and $7 for seniors and military and allows visitors to visit the show as often as they like during the season.. There is no charge for children younger than 12.
