by Jason Stone

NORTH VALLEY – Boulder Creek and Goldwater went into the holiday break heading in opposite directions, but both teams will come back in the same place–against each other.

The Jaguars carried a three‑game losing streak, while the Bulldogs brought a string of three wins into the holiday break.

Boulder Creek (2‑5‑1 overall, 0‑1 Northwest Region) will host Goldwater (6‑5‑0, 0‑0) Jan. 8 in Anthem. The Bulldogs headed into the break with a pair of non‑region wins over Shadow Mountain and St. Mary's.

In other 5A news, O'Connor will have to wait until Jan. 8 to try for its first win of the season.

Among 4A teams, Cactus Shadows is off until Jan. 3 at Flagstaff. The Falcons opened the Wells Fargo 2 Region season last week at Bradshaw Mountain but results were not immediately available.
