Publisher arrested on felony warrants

NEW RIVER – The arrest of John Alexander, publisher of the Foothills Focus, on two felony warrants is confirmed by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Alexander was arrested Saturday, March 11, on “fugitive of justice” counts issued out of the state of Michigan, his former residence, and booked into the Madison Street Jail.

“It appears he was bonded out and released on a surety bond at 3 a.m. Sunday, said MCSO Lt. Paul Chagolla.

The Michigan warrants allegedly stem from that state’s “deadbeat dad” statutes involving unpaid child support.
A call to Alexander at the Focus seeking comment was not returned by press time.
