Obituary - Irene Louise Brown

Irene L. Brown, 85, of Waverly, Iowa died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln, Neb., with Father George Benson officiating.

Irene Louise Burgess was born December 18, 1920 to Mark and Anna (Busche) Burgess in Omaha, Neb. She married William E. Brown on November 30, 1944 in Lincoln, Neb.


Irene graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln in 1939.

Irene was the comptroller for Exceptional Person Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa until 1983 when she and her husband retired to Cave Creek, Ariz. In May of 2003 she returned to Waverly where she and Bill lived with their daughter, Jeanne.

Survivors include her husband William Brown of Waverly; two daughters Kathleen Sundell and her husband James of Salem, Ore., and Jeanne Hartwig and her husband Duane of Waverly; two grandchildren Kristin and Marc Bierbaum; and one brother Martin (Joyce) Burgess of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by sons, John and David; brothers Glenn, Irvin and Carl Burgess.
